You have no status. Only your parents do.
A non-parent would rarely if ever get custody.
What you are asking can't be done. How long does it take to change who has legal custody over a minor? It all depends on if your parents want to give up legal custody of you or not. How long does it take to change who has legal custody over a minor? Can't be done without parental consent, assuming that they take decent care of you, which i'm guessing they do.
Without parental consent this is impossible, it just wont happen.
Trust me, you probably dont even really want to move in with your friend and her mom. I dont know your situation though, so i wont judge.
How long does it take to change who has legal custody over a minor?the cost will probably be nothing.
That is because friend's mother has NO legal authority to even request custody... much less get it. No lawyer would even take the case. ONLY parents have the right to petition (meaning, file a case) for custody of a child, except in some rare cases, a grandparent can.
No authority to file.. no court case. How long does it take to change who has legal custody over a minor?Like the other posters have said, unless your parents consent or are unfit, your friend's mom cannot get legal custody or guardianship over you.
