How would you change the divorce act (not the child custody point of view)?

I think the divorce act is really easy for people to get divorced now. What kind of reform could we make (hypothetically) that will make divorce harder in a sense. For example, have mandatory couples counselling and then after a certain number of sessions can you get officially divorced, because separation for 1 year may not be a good ground for divorce.

Reasonable suggestions please! How would you change the divorce act (not the child custody point of view)?I think it's none of your business why people want to marry or divorce. Make marriage harder to get into in the first place-- making it harder to divorce will only facilitate already abusive marriages. How would you change the divorce act (not the child custody point of view)? In some countries what you suggest already applies.Families should stay together until the child turns 18 and then the issue of divorce is not such a problem for them to deal with. Couples should not divorce until a child turns 18.How would you change the divorce act (not the child custody point of view)? The time to save a marriage occurs long before they start the paperwork, when it gets to that point it is far to late.
